The iPhones

Ah– what you’ve all been waiting to read about… the long-awaited iPhones and they were sure not to disappoint, with three spectacular models set to be launched onto the market really soon. This is the “best line-up than ever before” according to host Tim Cook.

iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max

The smartphone that defined the initiative developments as smartphones as we know it, the long-awaited update for the iPhone X has been on everybody’s minds. The iPhone X brought us abilities and technologies that were only available in professional systems, but now, the Apple development team have gone one further with the iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max models.

A sleek design with edge-to-edge Apple retina OLED display, the elegant iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max are available in a limited edition gold or colour classics, silver or space grey.

The Apple display is bigger than ever before, without enlarging the size of the phone itself. The screen is also durable, and can even surface a fall into liquid according to the extensive tests done by the Apple team. Coming in two choices, you can pick from the iPhone Xs’ 5.8” display with 2.7 million pixel colour display with 458ppi or the iPhone Xs Max’s 6.5” display with 3.3 million pixel colour range with 458ppi. Of course, these capabilities make for more dynamic viewing of photographs and videos that we all love to do with our iPhones now.

The camera has been comparable to the professional level kit on the market, and this has obviously got users excited to use it! Paul, the keynote speaker, showed us numerous examples of the phone’s capabilities when it comes to photography, one of which made its way to the front cover of TIME magazine. Portrait mode has got some serious additions with the ability to change the depth of field on images to create interesting bokeh in photos AFTER you’ve taken it through the smart technology of the advanced camera system. The great camera system also makes for epic video-taking, and with the stereo sound system allowing for “wider sound”, you can watch movies and play games in a more immersive experience.

The camera also allows for better Face ID software, where your face is your password for the phone, data and phone payments.

The new A12 Bionic Chip made up of a 6 core CPU, 4 core GPU and neural engine, allows for faster processing and a phone that offers the power for new applications and abilities like Augmented Reality, which we have gone into more in part four of our Keynote updates.

For a faster, smoother and epic iPhone, look to pre-order your iPhone Xs/ Xs Max on Friday 14th September to receive next week.

Prices range from £999, final retail price dependant on phone storage size and model selection.

iPhone Xr

Marrying large Apple “liquid retina” 6.1” LSD display, 1.4 million pixels and 326 ppi, the iPhone Xr is the cheaper option for the mass market without compromising on ability and beauty. The phone comes in a range of bright colours for those who like to personalise their devices, and bright colour is also reflected in its Apple display with true tone support like the iPhone X range.

The iPhone Xr allows you to have some of the great experiences you love in the iPhone X, with the 12MP single camera at the back of the phone and 7MP front camera allowing you to take some stellar shots. The camera system is also utilised in updated Face ID technology which allows for more security on for your phone.

Also equipped with the new A12 Bionic Chip for faster processing and better multi-tasking.

Prices range from £749, final retail price dependant on phone storage size and model selection.

“The new 7nm processor in the new iPhones is very impressive, especially enabling the new AR performance…cannot wait to improve my hoops!” – Charles

“For me, it’s the iPhone Xs Max. I love my iPhone X, and the overall improvements, as well as the increase in screen size in the new model is great! I’ll be straight on the pre-order.” – George Banner
