WWDC 2015 Apple OS X El Capitan

Apple WWDC 2015 Round-up Video: OS X 10.11 El Capitan, iOS 9, WatchOS 2, Apple Music & more

Yesterday saw Apple’s annual WWDC, as usual, there were quite a few interesting announcements. We saw peeks of OS X 10.11 El Capitan (we aren’t sure about the name yet), which is mostly focussed on optimisation & performance. Metal for Mac certainly sounds interesting, a new API that combines OpenCL & OpenGL for supposedly improved performance, this seems to be mostly aimed at integrated graphics, but it may have an impact on full sized cards too.
Similarly iOS 9 seems to be focussed on performance rather than new features. WatchOS 2 added native apps as well as third party complications.
We also saw the launch of Apple’s predicted ‘Apple Music’ service. Apple Music offers audio & video streaming, an integrated live radio station ‘Beats 1’ which will be run by Zane Lowe, and curated playlists.
Check out the video below from The Verge for a great round-up.

What do you guys think of Apple’s WWDC announcements?
