The 13-inch 2020 MacBook Pro was the first Pro model with Apple’s newly design M1 Apple Silicon processor. Although there were no other changes to the product line itself the performance and battery benefits afforded by the M1 ARM chip were unparalleled. The biggest controversy was that it only supported one external display which stopped a large portion of customer base from upgrading. The 2020 MacBook Pro was announced alongside the MacBook Air with the same M1 chip but had 8 GPU cores as standard. This was an upgrade on the Air.
The 2023 MacBook Pro 14-inch with M3 chip and three ports represents a significant advancement in Apple’s laptop lineup. Building on the previous models, this iteration offers enhanced performance and connectivity options. The inclusion of the M3 chip delivers improved processing power and energy efficiency, catering to both professional and everyday users. The three-port configuration provides versatile connectivity, accommodating various peripherals and external devices.
The 2021 refresh of MacBook Pro was a huge change from previous models. Alongside the 16-inch the 14-inch was essentially a shrunk down version. Apple normally reduce performance or include lower specification options but this was not the case. You could choose the same M1 Pro or M1 Max SoC. The only performance effecting feature was smaller fans. With more ports, the return of MagSafe and the pushed out bezel screen this was a leap for the MacBook Pro.
Apple announced the redesigned 16-inch MacBook Pro during final event of 2021. Featuring Apple’s new M1 Pro and M1 Max, Apple’s second ARM-based SoCs (system on chip). They also welcomed back ports such as HDMI and SDXC going back on their 2016 philosophy and enabled charging through MagSafe 3. The 16-inch and the accompanied 14-inch both featured a notch on the screen due to the reduced bezel moving across the designed language used in the iPhone.

Learn how our process works step by step. We will keep you updated, so you always know what’s going on with your device.
Step 1
Find Your Serial Number
Using your device’s serial number, we can accurately find important information about your device – such as model and device specification. The process is just like entering your car’s registration.
Step 2
Condition, Collection & Payment Forms
When purchasing your Mac, did you spend extra to upgrade internal specs? We will offer you more than any competitor! We are the only trade-in service which will allow you to select your Mac’s exact specification.
Your Mac’s specifications aren’t the only thing that has an effect on the overall value. Condition is another crucial factor in determining your device’s value – we keep this as simple as A, B or C grade. MacFinder are the only trade-in service to grade all components which helps us maintain an accurate and consistent valuation. A small hairline scratch won’t affect the device’s value as much as a cracked screen.
Step 3
We Collect From You
Once your valuation has been confirmed, we will book your collection. When you select your collection date, we require five days minimum notice so that your collection pack can arrive in time, and allow you time to pack for the courier.
When collection day comes along, DPD will collect your device with a provided pre-paid shipping label that they will place on the box. Your device will be delivered to us the next day.
Step 4
Checking & Testing
When your device arrives at MacFinder, it’ll be handed over to our inspection team. They will ensure the device is functional, and make sure the declared condition matches the original quote. This inspection will include everything from functional ports to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
Step 5
Payment
Once your device has passed the inspection, payment will then be sent to you. We offer many different payment options for you to choose from and our finance team will deposit the funds into your preferred payment account. If you are planning on exchanging your device, your in-store credit will be added to your MacFinder account, ready to use.
