The Late 2012 Mac mini updated Apple’s small desktop with third-generation Intel Core processors and USB 3, making external storage substantially more useful. Dual-core Core i5 and quad-core Core i7 options gave the same compact case different roles, from everyday desktop work to heavier multitasking and server duties. Its removable base still provided access to memory, and Fusion Drive joined the storage options. Compared with the Mid 2011 Mac mini, the changes were largely internal; integrated Intel graphics remained a limitation for demanding graphics work.
