About This Mac

The mid-2011 13-inch MacBook Air moved the thin wedge design onto Intel’s Sandy Bridge processors. That brought a substantial step beyond the earlier Core 2 Duo platform, while Thunderbolt replaced Mini DisplayPort with a connection able to carry both displays and fast peripherals. A backlit keyboard also returned, making the Air easier to use in dim rooms. Its flash storage and light body still prioritised portability over upgrade options, a balance the mid-2012 13-inch MacBook Air would refine with USB 3 and newer processors.
