The mid-2013 13-inch MacBook Air put efficiency at the centre of the update. Haswell processors helped raise Apple’s wireless web battery estimate from seven to twelve hours, a meaningful change for working away from a socket. PCIe flash storage and 802.11ac Wi-Fi also improved file access and wireless networking compared with the mid-2012 13-inch MacBook Air. The wedge-shaped case stayed familiar, including its useful USB and SD card connections, but the unchanged non-Retina display remained the most obvious compromise.
