About This Mac

The early-2011 13-inch MacBook Pro kept the aluminium unibody case but made an important change underneath it. Sandy Bridge Core i5 and i7 processors replaced Core 2 Duo, improving demanding everyday tasks, while Thunderbolt added a faster route to displays and external storage. Intel HD Graphics 3000 took over graphics duties, without a separate graphics chip in this size. Its optical drive and replaceable memory and storage remained useful, although the low-resolution screen was unchanged; the late-2011 13-inch MacBook Pro would bring only a modest further refresh.
