The late-2020 13-inch MacBook Pro brought Apple’s M1 chip to the familiar Touch Bar design. Performance and battery life improved substantially over the Intel entry model, while active cooling helped sustain demanding work. It launched alongside the M1 MacBook Air, with an eight-core GPU as standard; the Air offered either seven or eight GPU cores. The unchanged case still had two Thunderbolt ports and a 720p camera, and M1’s support for only one native external display was a meaningful limitation for larger desk setups.
