About This Mac

The mid-2012 13-inch MacBook Pro continued the traditional optical-drive design. Ivy Bridge processors, Intel HD Graphics 4000 and USB 3 updated performance and external file transfers over the late-2011 13-inch MacBook Pro. It kept the aluminium unibody case, Ethernet and FireWire alongside Thunderbolt, with memory and storage that could be replaced later. That flexibility gave it a different appeal from the Retina models arriving in 2012, although its thicker body, mechanical-drive configurations and modest screen resolution reflected the older approach.
