Repair Terms & ConditionsThese Terms & Conditions apply to all Mac repair services carried out by MacFinder (MacRefresh Ltd), a company registered in England and Wales. By booking or authorising a repair, you agree to these terms.1. DefinitionsCustomer / You – the individual or organisation requesting a repair.MacFinder / We / Us / Our – MacRefresh Ltd, trading as MacFinder.Device – the Apple Mac computer or product handed in or sent to us for repair.Repair Quote – the written or electronic estimate we provide outlining the work required, costs, and estimated timescales.Inspection Fee – a fee for diagnostic work, which may be waived or credited against the cost of the repair.Warranty Period – the three-month period covering the specific repair carried out.2. Booking & Diagnostic InspectionWhen your device arrives with us (by courier or in person), we’ll carry out a diagnostic inspection to assess the fault(s).We’ll then provide you with a Repair Quote, including parts, labour, and estimated turnaround time.An Inspection Fee may apply. This will be clearly communicated to you in advance and will be deducted from the repair cost if you proceed.We will not proceed with any chargeable work until you have given approval (in writing or electronically).If you choose not to proceed, the Inspection Fee remains payable and your device will be returned to you.3. Your ResponsibilitiesIt is your responsibility to back up all data before sending your device to us. We do not accept liability for data loss.Where possible, you must remove iCloud activation locks, disable FileVault, and provide passwords required to repair and test the machine.If the device is locked or protected in a way that prevents repair or testing, delays may occur, and some services may not be possible.If shipping your device, it must be packaged securely. Responsibility for loss or damage in transit remains with you unless using your own pre-arranged insured courier.4. Repair & WarrantyWe will carry out the Repair Quote using genuine or high-quality equivalent parts.On completion, the repaired component will be tested to confirm the fault has been resolved.All repairs are covered by a three-month warranty from the date of return. This warranty covers recurrence of the same fault under normal use.The warranty does not cover:New or unrelated faults.Accidental damage, misuse, or further liquid damage.Issues caused by third-party repairs or tampering after the repair.General wear and tear.If the same fault reoccurs within the warranty period, we will re-repair or replace the faulty part free of charge.5. Parts & AvailabilityWe may use Apple genuine or OEM-equivalent parts depending on availability. If a quoted part becomes unavailable or delayed, we’ll notify you immediately and give you the option to continue, amend, or cancel.If your device is deemed beyond economical repair after diagnostics, we will let you know before proceeding with any further work.6. Payment TermsAll repairs must be paid for in full before the device is returned or collected.If you cancel after parts have been ordered or work has started, you may be charged for parts and any labour incurred.If you do not collect or arrange return of your device within 30 days of notification of completion, we reserve the right to charge storage fees. After 90 days, the device may be recycled or sold to recover costs (in line with the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977).7. Delivery & RiskRisk in the device remains with you until we receive it.Once returned or collected, responsibility transfers back to you.We are not liable for delays caused by courier services outside of our control.8. Limitation of LiabilityWe are responsible only for the specific repair carried out as part of the Repair Quote.We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses including loss of data, loss of business, or loss of use.Our total liability in any claim relating to a repair will not exceed the amount paid for that repair.Nothing in these terms limits your legal rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.9. Cancellations & Consumer RightsIf you change your mind before work begins, you can cancel without charge.If you cancel after diagnostic work or parts ordering, the Inspection Fee and any costs already incurred remain payable.Under UK law, you have the right to a repair or replacement if the service is not performed with reasonable care and skill.These terms do not affect your statutory rights.10. Governing Law & DisputesThese terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.Any disputes will be handled first through informal resolution. If unresolved, claims may be brought in the small claims court or other appropriate UK jurisdiction.If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest will remain in full effect.
