About This Mac

The third-generation 12.9-inch Wi-Fi iPad Pro substantially reduced the large Pro’s body in 2018 while retaining its screen size. Slimmer borders and Face ID replaced the Home-button layout, making the same workspace easier to carry. A12X increased processing headroom, while USB-C replaced Lightning for more flexible connections to displays and accessories. The change also removed the headphone jack and required the redesigned second-generation Pencil, so older accessories needed checking. The cellular third-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro added mobile data to this smaller-bodied 12.9-inch design.
