The M5 Pro Mac mini put the more demanding side of Apple’s 2026 compact desktop range into the small enclosure introduced in 2024. Its higher memory bandwidth and larger memory options suited complex creative projects, while Thunderbolt 5 gave compatible external storage more headroom. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 updated wireless connectivity without changing the desk-friendly size. Compared with the M6 Mac mini, its advantage lay in sustained workloads, expansion bandwidth and configuration choices rather than the newer-looking chip number; memory still could not be upgraded later.
