The four-port 2016 13-inch MacBook Pro was the fuller expression of Apple’s thin redesign. The Touch Bar replaced physical function keys with application controls, Touch ID added fingerprint authentication, and a brighter wide-colour display improved the screen. It also gained a larger Force Touch trackpad and Thunderbolt 3 connections on both sides, distinguishing it from the two-port 2016 13-inch MacBook Pro. The smaller body came with a shallow butterfly keyboard and the loss of MagSafe and traditional ports, so many existing accessories needed adaptors.
