The two-port 2016 13-inch MacBook Pro introduced the smaller, lighter redesign without the Touch Bar or Touch ID. Its brighter wide-colour display and larger Force Touch trackpad modernised the experience, while Skylake processors and Thunderbolt 3 updated the hardware. Unlike the four-port 2016 13-inch MacBook Pro, it kept a conventional row of function keys. The thin butterfly keyboard and move to USB-C shaped the compromises: MagSafe, HDMI, traditional USB and the SD card slot disappeared, leaving just two shared charging and accessory ports plus the headphone socket.
