The 2019 15-inch MacBook Pro took Intel performance further within the established Touch Bar design. Eight-core Core i9 options joined the six-core models, giving demanding threaded applications more capacity than the 2018 15-inch MacBook Pro. Apple also revised the butterfly keyboard materials, while the graphics, memory ceiling and storage options largely carried over. Its familiar thin case retained both the reliance on Thunderbolt adaptors and the butterfly mechanism that the following 16-inch design would replace.
