About This Mac

The 2017 MacBook refined Apple’s 12-inch Retina design, keeping its unusually light, fanless construction. Kaby Lake processors and updated graphics improved performance over the 2016 MacBook, while a new 16GB memory option allowed more applications to stay open comfortably. Apple also revised the butterfly keyboard and fitted faster SSD storage. Those changes broadened its usefulness without turning it into a workstation: the low-power processors and single USB-C port still reflected a laptop built around portability.
