The 2018 update of the Touch Bar MacBook Pro was focused around small technology and performance improvements. There was now a six core processor option and the Vega graphics options was the first time we saw HBM2 memory used in the MacBook. However the most impacting change was the T2 SoC chip which enable a whole host of hardware security features and brought the MacBook more in line with the iPhone & iPad.
